FORT WORTH – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros men’s tennis team completed its run at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Texas Regional Saturday at TCU’s Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center. 
 
Senior Emilien Burnel and junior Sam Whitehead reached the Doubles Round of 16 after big wins over Texas Tech and SMU on Friday. The duo of Burnel/Whitehead played tough in Saturday’s match against TCU’s Lui Maxted/Duncan Chan, but they fell 8-5 and ended just shy of reaching the quarterfinals. 
 
UTRGV men’s tennis will be back in action Oct. 27-29 at the Cooper Outdoor Advertising Islander Open in Corpus Christi.
