WCVB NEWSCENTER 5. ALL RIGHT, MATT, THANK YOU. AND LEWISTON’S POLICE CHIEF SAYS THEY’RE ONLY BEGINNING TO INVESTIGATE POSSIBLE THREATS MADE BY THE ALLEGED SHOOTER BEFORE CARRYING OUT THE MASSACRES. THE POLICE CHIEF SPOKE WITH GOOD MORNING AMERICA ABOUT THE NEXT STEPS. YOU KNOW, MENTAL HEALTH IS A COMPONENT OF THIS BY FAR. I’M QUITE CERTAIN OF IT. I’M NO CLINICIAN AND I DON’T HAVE ACCESS OR PRIVY TO ANY MENTAL HEALTH RECORDS THAT MR. CARD PERHAPS MIGHT HAVE HAD. BUT THAT’S GOING TO BE SOMETHING WE’RE GOING TO LOOK AT. WE’RE GOING TO DEBRIEF. WE’RE GOING TO, YOU KNOW, HOPEFULLY EVEN FIND A BETTER WAY. IF THERE WAS SOME WARNING SIGNS THAT WERE GIVEN, HOW CAN WE MORE EFFECTIVELY PUT THOSE WARNINGS OUT AND WHAT CAN WE DO IN RESPONSE TO THEM TO MAKE SURE THAT THIS NEVER HAPPENS AGAIN? AND THE CHIEF SAYS THEY ARE ANALYZING DEVICES, TEXT MESSAGES AND SOCIAL MEDIA POSTS CONNECTED TO ROBERT CARD. CHIEF SAINT-PIERRE ALSO WAS ASKED ABOUT CARD TRYING TO BUY A SILENCER A FEW MONTHS AGO.
