Meryl Streep dropped a bombshell on Friday when she disclosed that she and Don Gummer had split’more than six years ago.’
The former couple, who wed in 1978, were last spotted together at the 90th Academy Awards at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood in March 2018, one year after their divorce.
During this event, the celebrated actress, who was 74 years old at the time, was nominated for her leading role in The Post, directed by Steven Spielberg, with her spouse by her side.
Meryl appeared breathtaking in a Christian Dior-designed crimson gown with a plunging neckline and a belted waist. Don, aged 76, appeared dashing in a black suit, white blouse, and satin tie.
On the red carpet, the couple was photographed beaming, with Don affectionately wrapping his arm around his wife’s midriff.
A spokesperson told Page Six that the Devil Wears Prada actress and the sculptor “have been separated for more than 6 years, and while they will always care for each other, they have chosen lives apart.”
The couple has four children: Henry, 43, Mamie, 40, Grace, 37, and Louisa Jacobson, 30. Their wedding took place in 1978.
