Michael Cohen Testifies for Five Hours in the Hush-Money Investigation

Michael Cohen concluded his hearing on Wednesday after testifying for more than five hours this week as part of an investigation into hush-money payments he is accused of making at the behest of former President Donald Trump. Cohen, who formerly served as Trump’s personal attorney, allegedly felt “relieved” as he completed answering questions from each grand juror on Wednesday. In 2016, Cohen was said to have paid Daniels $130,000 to keep her quiet about an affair she says she had with Trump. Cohen’s testimony occurred one week after the Manhattan district attorney’s office invited Trump to testify in the investigation himself — a possible indication that prosecutors are reaching a decision on whether to indict a former U.S. president for the first time. “My belief is that Donald Trump must ultimately be held accountable for his dirty crimes,” Cohen testified Wednesday, according to CNN.
