More than a million Michiganders are expected to hit the roads for the Memorial Day holiday weekend later this month. If you’re going on a trip, is your vehicle ready?

Belle Tire Vice President of Operations Jan Simonsen says they see a rush of people with car problems following big travel holidays like this one.

“We’ll get calls with people stranded on the road because there was something wrong with their vehicle that they weren’t aware of,” Simonsen  said. “They didn’t have the opportunity to bring it in and have us inspect it, or maybe they didn’t think about it as their daily commute back and forth to work or school may not  have stressed their vehicle enough to cause these, these issues.”

Simonsen says you should always check your tires, brakes, and batteries before heading out on a road trip.
