Cinergy will renovate the old Regal Cinema into a new entertainment facility in Midland.
MIDLAND, Texas — A new entertainment center is coming to Midland…and it took one step closer to creation!
The Midland City Council approved an economic development performance for Cinergy to renovate and expand the old Regal Cinema on Loop 250.
Cinergy will have to meet certain markers up front, including making a $24 million investment and construction must start December 2025 and end by December 2026.
This all aligns with their goals of improving the quality of life in Midland.
“Cinergy adding another facility to Midland is great, they’re moving into a facility that is vacant for years that is kind of an eyesore on the Loop,” City Councilman Brian Stubbs said. “It’s great somebody is coming in to invest and redo the outside which is a great look for Midland.”
The new Cinergy location will have more theaters, gaming and bowling lanes. It will also have 3,500 square feet for a multi-level go cart track.
Cinergy will still keep the cinema location in Midland open.
