Millie Bobby Brown has officially tied the knot with Jake Bongiovi.
Per the U.S. Sun, the 20-year-old Stranger Things star and the 22-year-old son of rockstar Jon Bon Jovi secretly held a wedding ceremony last weekend. The outlet described the intimate event, held in the U.S., as a “very low-key, romantic affair with their closest family with them as they said their vows.” Bongiovi’s parents Jon Bon Jovi and Dorothea Bongiovi were in attendance along with Brown’s parents.
The newlyweds are also said to be planning another larger ceremony for later this year. Fellow Stranger Things actor Matthew Modine previously told Access Daily he had written vows and would be officiating the couple’s union, though it’s unclear whether he was booked for one or both of the weddings.
Brown and Bongiovi previously announced their engagement in April 2023, about two years after they made their relationship official on Instagram (which is where they met). The pair first sparked romance rumors in June 2021 when Bongiovi shared a selfie with the actor, then again when they stepped out in New York City later that month holding hands.
While they’ve kept their relationship relatively low-key, they’ve regularly shared glimpses into their romance over the years—both on social media, via PDA-filled posts and romantic tributes, and in real life, at concert outings and red-carpet events. The couple made a red carpet appearance during the 2022 BAFTA Film Awards, as well as premieres for Brown’s projects including Stranger Things season 4 and Netflix’s Enola Holmes 2.
During a guest appearance on the Tonight Show, Brown told host Jimmy Fallon how Bongiovi proposed to her underwater, as the couple initially bonded over their love of diving. Though Brown couldn’t speak underwater, she reacted with an enthusiastic facial expression, accidentally dropping the ring—but luckily, Bongiovi was able to catch it. Brown concluded, “It’s a reflection of who he is and I feel like we’re always going to have each other’s back and if anyone drops the ball, we got it.”
