
Nagpur: The concluding function of 35th Mines Environment and Mineral Conservation (MEMC) Week, 2025 was held held at Chandrapur Forest Academy, recently. The event was hosted by Lloyds Metals & Energy Ltd–Surjagarh Iron Ore Mines, under the aegis of the Indian Bureau of Mines (IBM), Nagpur region under the Ministry of Mines.
Around 1,500 people attended the event from different mines across Nagpur, and the event was an essential initiative in India’s mining sector, organised to raise awareness and recognize efforts in the mine environment and mineral conservation. PN Sharma, Controller General I/c (CG), IBM, Nagpur graced the event as chief guest while B Prabhakaran, managing director of Lloyds Metals was the guest of honour.
Yogesh Kale, CoM, IBM, G Ram, DyCoM, RR Satapathy, director (beneficiation), Lloyds Metals-Surjagarh Mines and Jiwan Hedau, SrGM, were also present. The event ended with vote of thanks by Lloyds Management followed by local tribal cultural programme.
