The Minot State women’s hockey team headed into the Thanksgiving break with a small win streak that propelled the Beavers up two spots in this week’s ACHA national poll to No. 8.
Meanwhile, a pair of losses at the ACHA Showcase left the Minot State men’s team ranked No. 2 in their latest ACHA poll as they slipped out of the No. 1 spot.
The Minot State women (7-9-0 overall) beat host and then No. 9-ranked Jamestown 6-1 and 2-0 last weekend to climb to No. 8 in this week’s poll.
Minot State returns to the ice on Saturday, Dec. 2, hosting Dakota College at Bottineau in the first half of a home-and-home weekend series.
Jamestown slipped to No. 12 in the latest poll with the two losses.
Liberty retained the No. 1 spot, Midland stayed put at No. 2, Adrian remained No. 3, Michigan held its spot at No. 4, and Mckendree remained No. 5.
Meanwhile, the ACHA Showcase led to some dramatic changes in the men’s standings as Adrian moved up two spots to No. 1, Minot State (12-3-0) slipped a spot to No. 2, Central Oklahoma slipped a spot to No. 3, Jamestown leapt from No. 7 to No. 4, and Mary held its ground at No. 5.
Minot State next returns to action playing at No. 4 Jamestown on Monday, then hosts Grand Canyon on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 1 and 2, at the Maysa Arena, at 7:30 p.m. each night.
