
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo – The Missouri Department of Agriculture has launched its 2025 Missouri Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program and WIC Farmers Market Nutrition Program.
Both programs are funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food and Nutrition Service and assist low-income recipients in obtaining fresh produce.
Low-income seniors in the Kansas City, St. Louis, Springfield, and Mid-Missouri regions can apply to receive benefits. A total of $50 in benefits may be issued to each qualifying Missouri household. Seniors are permitted to use a proxy to apply for benefits and purchase eligible foods at a farmers market. Seniors can apply in Kansas City at the University of Missouri Extension at 573-884-5576 and Columbia at Aging Best at 800-369-5211.
WIC participants in these regions can also apply to receive benefits totaling $30 per eligible recipient to purchase eligible foods. All benefits are available through September 30th and must be redeemed by October 31st.
