Growing Together Texas, along with 14 local crop growers and producers, have partnered to create an online farmer’s market and weekly subscription box for Lubbock locals.
“LBK Grown is an online marketplace of locally grown and produced food,” according to a statement from LBK Grown. “We make it possible for farmers to work together to meet the growing demand for local, sustainable food in the Lubbock, Texas area.”
Customers can select from a variety of fresh fruit, vegetable, microgreen, meat and flower products online. They can also subscribe to a $25 weekly produce box available each Wednesday, which they can either pick up from four locations across the town or receive delivery for an additional $10.
With only 20 boxes guaranteed, LBK Grown encourages customers to pay in advance, for up to 10 weeks, to receive a guaranteed box with in-season, locally-grown produce.
Producers include Barn to Table, Becker Meats Co., E3 Farms, Elohim Nata Farms, Faith 2 Farm, Frontier Market, JJJ Farmers, Juice Lucy Farms, Kitten Land Co. Jr, LBK Grown, Little Sprig Farm, Patna Flower Farm, Pelkert Farms, Revival Mill, Sky Gardens, South Plains Food Bank GRUB Farm and Orchard and the Urban Market LBK.
“Farmers benefit from the marketing, selling, packaging and delivering of their produce and prepared foods,” according to the organization. “Our marketplace brings fresh, healthy, locally grown and produced food to you, the buyer, in a cost-effective manner on a weekly basis.
“Ordering from LBK Grown helps to build and support our community, and to preserve our precious agricultural land for future use,” according to LBK Grown.
