M&S shoppers spot £6 perfume ‘dupes’ for Chanel, YSL, Paco Rabanne and Jo Malone

Purchasing your favourite perfume can be an expensive shopping habit, unless you know about any impressive ‘dupes’ on the market.

Marks and Spencer is an old faithful for many shoppers for its clothing to food, but it is also somewhat of a goldmine for luxurious fragrances that won’t break the bank.

The high street retailer’s collection of budget-friendly fragrances have been gaining attention on TikTok from shoppers who claim they are similar to some major designer brands such as Chanel, YSL, Calvin Klein, Paco Rabanne and Jo Malone.

TikTok account @dontmesswiththedupes shared a full list of all the retailer’s perfumes and its ‘dupes’ that are available as of November 2023.

One bottle that has previously gone viral on the video sharing platform before is the Midnight Blossom Eau De Toilette. Priced at just £6 for a 30ml bottle, this “warm” and “floral” fragrance is said to be a ‘dupe’ for the iconic YSL Black Opium that retails at £65 for the same-size bottle.

If you’re a fan of Chanel’s distinctive designer perfumes, then you’ll probably want to pick up M&S’ Soft Iris fragrance, which is a ‘dupe’ for the luxury brand’s Coco Mademoiselle. The retailer’s fruity perfume will cost you just £6 for a 30ml bottle, while the same size bottle of the Chanel fragrance would set you back £60.35.

One of the most popular M&S perfume ‘dupes’ was its Velvet Rose, which was said to be perfect for fans of the iconic No.5. Unfortunately, it no longer looks to be available on the website, so it might be worth checking your local store.

If you are a fan of Lancôme’s La Vie Est Belle Intensément Eau de Parfum, then you might want to give the Pink Pepper Eau De Toilette a try. Priced at £6 for a 30ml bottle, you can save yourself some pennies compared to the designer’s £52.

Paco Rabanne’s Lady Million has remained a firm fan-favourite among many perfume fans, but it’s £56 for a 30ml bottle. Luckily, M&S’ Warm Neroli, which is £6 for a 30ml bottle, offers the same sophisticated fragrance on a budget.

Meanwhile, the retailer’s “zingy” £10 Fresh Mandarin Eau de Toilette (30ml) has been declared as a decent alternative for the bestselling Carolina Herrera Good Girl that retails at £60.

If you’re looking for real luxury on a budget, then the aromatic £10 Warmth Eau De Parfum is a ‘dupe’ for the Le Labo Santal 33, which can retail at a whopping £168 for the same size 50ml bottle.

For those wondering if M&S’ high-end designer perfume ‘dupes’ will be worth the money, then it is worth noting that numerous shoppers flocked to the TikTok videos comments to rave over their quality.

One said: “M&S perfume is so good…. but don’t tell everyone or they’ll run out.”

A second eager fan wrote: “I got the warm neroli in their advent calendar and actually could not believe how much it smelled like lady million which i used to wear ALL the time!”

A third praised: “I bought Soft Iris without smelling it. Coco Madamoiselle was my wedding perfume. The perfect dupe to chuck in my handbag!”

And a fourth added: “Warm Neroli is my JAM I got a bottle in my advent calendar last year, literally went back and got 3 extra bottles. I wear it ALL THE TIME.”

Beauty deal of the week

Fragrance fans are in for a treat, as Boots has just launched a swoon-worthy deal that has slashed a bestselling designer perfume by half-price.

While Black Friday has officially landed today, the high street cosmetics retailer has been impressing beauty fans with its own mammoth sale that has provided savings since the beginning of the month.

And if you’re looking for a new luxury fragrance without the price-tag, then you’re in luck, as a 75ml bottle of the ever-popular Yves Saint Laurent Black Opium Neon EDP has been slashed from £105 to just £52.50 – a full 50 per cent saving of the RRP.

A 75ml bottle of the fragrance is still priced at £105 on the YSL website. Meanwhile, rival retailer Superdrug has it in stock for £90, although Health and Beauty members can snap it up for £72. Nevertheless, Boots shoppers are still getting the cheapest deal.

The Neon fragrance adds a fruity twist to the classic YSL Black Opium fragrance, as it adds in notes of luxurious dragonfruit to the classic rich coffee base that fans have come to know and love.

Presented in the designer brand’s signature sparkly black bottle, this bold perfume will make the ideal budget friendly Christmas gift for a loved one who enjoys luxury perfumes.

With a 4.7 and 96 per cent recommendation rate on the retailer’s website, the YSL Black Opium Neon EDP is one of Boots’ most popular fragrances among shoppers who have hailed the “unique” and “long lasting” scent.
