MURRAY – Like many of the great American musicals, “Godspell” continues to be produced around the world because its relevance remains, even after more than 50 years.

The Murray State Music Department will present “Godspell” at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday in Lovett Auditorium. The music and lyrics are by Stephen Schwartz (“Wicked,” “Pippin”), with a book by John-Michael Tebelak. The show originally premiered Off-Broadway in 1971 before opening in London and then making its Broadway debut in 1976.
