Mural dedication at Horizons emphasizes bringing the community together

QUINCY — A little hot chocolate went a long way Thursday morning on Quincy’s south side as Horizons Soup Kitchen and Food Pantry hosted a dedication for the two murals adorning the building at 224 South Eighth.

“As I was working on this, guests of Horizons would come up and talk to me,” said artist Jennifer Bock-Nelson. “I think the message we were going for, the light in the darkness, is kind of universal. Having that metaphor of what’s on the horizon, what’s past the horizon, is a grounding force in landscape art, and it represents the stability that Horizons provides.
