At least four automotive service sector students will receive financial aid and a trip to the VISION Hi-Tech Training & Expo.

The Midwest Auto Care Alliance (MWACA) and the Technicians of Tomorrow Educational Foundation (TTEF) announced the opening of MWACA Student Scholarships, offering financial assistance of $1,000 each to at least four dedicated students pursuing careers in the automotive service sector.
Applications are open until Dec. 3 on MWACA’s official scholarship page.
Students eligible for these scholarships must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours in an automotive technology program at an accredited college or vocational school in the Midwest. High school seniors currently enrolled in a votech automotive program, planning to attend a college automotive technology program in the summer or fall of 2024, are also eligible. Applicants must have a minimum 2.0 GPA in high school or be maintaining a 2.0 GPA at a college or votech if currently enrolled.
The primary objective of these scholarships is to address the shortage of qualified technicians in the automotive industry by providing financial support to budding automotive professionals. As the automotive industry continues to evolve and require increasingly skilled workers, these scholarships aim to empower the next generation of technicians.
Scholarship recipients will not only receive financial support, but will also be granted a weekend training pass to the VISION Hi-Tech Training & Expo, providing professional-level technical training. During VISION’s Saturday evening awards dinner, scholarship recipients and their instructors will be acknowledged on stage for their achievements.
“We are aware of the shortfall of qualified technicians the automotive industry has seen in recent decades,” said Jerry Holcom, founder of TTEF and former president of MWACA. “This issue is very near and dear to my heart, along with MWACA’s executive board. This shortage of qualified technicians can be due to several reasons, but we don’t want the lack of financial resources to be one of them. We are thrilled to provide these scholarships to upcoming industry professionals to assist with tuition and expenses.”
