A regular at fashion week in Paris, where she graces the front rows at shows by Louis Vuitton, Dior and Saint Laurent, Evangelista is known for her impeccable taste. Here’s a look at some of her favourite finds from the Philippines, Paris and beyond.
The last great book I read …
I’ve started to read The Subtle Art of Not Giving A F***. It’s quite important and puts a little spice in your life to bring out your inner tiger.
My (not-so-secret) IG alter ago …
I love being part of Instagram and social media, but I also like being fun and I post a lot on my dog’s Instagram account, @pandaongpaucoescudero. It’s all in Tagalog and if you translate it won’t sound the same, but it’s very funny. I like to have her as my alter ego because she’s very feisty and sometimes bites and I feel we all need to bite from time to time. I enjoy her Instagram a lot.

My top skincare hack
I’ve always been into skincare but since I turned 38 [this year on Valentine’s Day], I’m very aware of what to do and not to do – and of sunblock. I’m into primers with sunblock and brightening effects, all natural. I’ve been using Strokes Beauty Lab, a Filipino brand I love.
I also love the Translucent Loose Setting Powder from Laura Mercier – it gives a light finish but dewy looking and very natural. I like gloss – Dior Lip Glow lip balm is a favourite of mine. I have this obsession with changing my hair up all the time – long/short, long/short – as I’m very indecisive, so I’m always on the lookout for good quality extensions.
My interior decor obsession
Anything that’s made of mother-of-pearl from the Philippines. I go to Cebu to a supplier and I’ve even given a table made of mother-of-pearl to a friend of mine. Christian Louboutin is a huge fan and it makes me very proud that we have a lot of mother-of-pearl in the Philippines.
The fashion pieces I keep going back to …
I love a good Alaïa dress and a good suit from Saint Laurent – how they’re so structured and make me feel very powerful. I’ve also been a fan of Schiaparelli since they relaunched when Diego Della Valle acquired it, and Daniel [Roseberry, creative director] has been doing a great job. I love Louis Vuitton and Dior is always a classic. I can go on and on.

My go-to getaways
There’s always something magical about the Hôtel Lutetia in Paris and I’m a fan of the Peninsula hotels. I grew up going to The Peninsula Manila and there was a super-iconic InterContinental Manila too, but it closed down. I was very lucky in that I was able to purchase their round marble table that was in the lobby and it’s now in my home.
My travel bucket list
I would love to go to Egypt. I wanted to be an archaeologist once upon a time. There is something so fascinating about Egypt. I’d also love to go to Cappadocia and Israel.
My all-time style icons
I love Jackie O [Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis], Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly … all the classic names, but everyone I see at fashion week is an icon to me. I find it amazing and liberating that nowadays women are not in a box and can wear whatever they want, and the more they express themselves, the more beautiful they become.

Inside my jewellery box
I’m a huge fan of the Bulgari Serpenti and I’ve been collecting a few pieces for myself. I love bold pieces like Saint Laurent and Schiaparelli costume jewellery. They’re very beautiful and timeless.
My Parisian picks
I like to take a walk in Saint-Germain-des-Prés, before lunch at La Société or brunch at Ralph’s Restaurant; or to shop at Galeries Lafayette before lunch at Perruche. I also like to go to the Fondation Louis Vuitton to see exhibitions and walk in Jardin D’Acclimatation with my family.
