So, how will the 2025-2031 television schedules shake out for the NASCAR Cup Series?
FOX Sports will carry the opening 14 races of the NASCAR Cup Series season each year, including the Daytona 500. Following FOX’s 14-race stint, Amazon Prime Video will exclusively stream five events.
The Amazon Prime Video streaming-only portion of the deal is groundbreaking in the NASCAR world as it will mark the first time any NASCAR Cup Series event will be exclusively streamed.
Following the Amazon Prime Video portion of the schedule, TNT Sports will take over as the broadcast partner for five events. Those five races will be simulcast on both TNT and the B/R Sports tier on the Max Streaming Service.
NBC Sports will then carry the final 14 races of the season.
“These agreements not only show NASCAR’s importance to the sports and entertainment ecosystem but also the willingness of some of the world’s largest and most respected media companies to make significant investments in America’s leading motorsport,” said Senior Vice President, Media and Productions, NASCAR, Brian Herbst.
“The media landscape is rapidly evolving, with new distribution platforms providing more options to the consumer than ever before. This is the right mix of media partners to promote and deliver content around our sport – positioning NASCAR for growth across different mediums and giving our fans uninterrupted access on the established platforms that they are already using. We are excited to work with this best-in-class group of media companies to deliver the best of NASCAR racing and the excitement of live sports to our fans.”
Aside from the Busch Light Clash, Daytona 500, and NASCAR All-Star Race, Amazon Prime Video will carry all NASCAR Cup Series practice and qualifying sessions through the opening 19 race weekends.
Following the opening 19 race weekends, WBD’s Max Streaming Service will carry all practice and qualifying sessions for the NASCAR Cup Series each season, and truTV will carry the linear TV broadcast of those sessions.
As previously announced, the NASCAR Xfinity Series will be aired exclusively on the CW beginning in 2025 and FOX Sports will retain the broadcast rights for the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series in 2025 and beyond.
