ANNAPOLIS, Md. — The CBS Sports Network will televise at least six Navy basketball games during the 2023-24 regular season. Those games are part of the 21-game slate announced today by the Patriot League office.
Navy’s appearances begin on Nov. 10 when each game of the 10th annual men’s Veterans Classic will be aired by the network. The opening game features the College of Charleston vs. Duquesne at 6 p.m. followed by the Mids facing Temple at 8:30 p.m.
Both Navy teams will appear on the network on Jan. 20 when the Mids play host to Army in Alumni Hall. The women’s game begins at 11 a.m. and the men’s game follows at 1:30 p.m.
Next on the network is the Feb. 3 Navy at Colgate men’s game. The Mids and the Raiders will tip at noon in Hamilton, N.Y.
The annual Star Game doubleheader from West Point will be televised by the CBS Sports Network one week later (Feb. 10). The women’s game between the Mids and the Black Knights will start at 11 a.m. and the men’s teams will take to the court at 1:30 p.m.
The Patriot League “flex game” dates, in which one game will be selected to air on the network no later than 10 days before the game, are Feb. 25 and March 2. The Mids play host to Holy Cross on the former date and make the short drive to Washington, D.C., for the regular season finale at American on the latter date.
Additionally, both men’s Patriot League Tournament semifinal round games (March 10) and the men’s (March 13) and women’s (March 17) championship games will be carried by the CBS Sports Network.
All remaining Navy home games and all Navy road Patriot League games not televised by the CBS Sports Network will be streamed via ESPN+.
Season tickets for both basketball teams remain on sale. Fans have options to purchase season tickets for just men’s games, only women’s games or for every home basketball game, with each guaranteeing purchasers their reserved seat for the full season. That offering includes the Army-Navy doubleheader but does not include the Veterans Classic.
Season ticket packages, which include access to parking on The Yard on game day, are priced as follows:
** Combined Men’s and Women’s (does not include Veterans Classic) –– $200 / ticket for adults, $150 / ticket for youth and senior citizens
** Men’s Games Only (does not include Veterans Classic) –– $100 / ticket for adults, $75 / ticket for youth and senior citizens
** Women’s Games Only –– $100 / ticket for adults, $75 / ticket for youth and senior citizens
Tickets are available for the Nov. 10 Veterans Classic featuring Duquesne vs. the College of Charleston and Navy vs. Temple. Lower level reserved seats are $40 / ticket and upper level general admission seats are $25 / ticket.
The College of Charleston compiled a 31-4 record during the 2022-23 season and shared the Colonial Athletic Association’s regular season title with a 16-2 record. The Cougars went on to win the CAA Tournament and advance to the NCAA Tournament. Duquense was one of the most improved teams in the country last season. The Dukes tied for third in the ranking –– with the College of Charleston –– as they went from posting a 6-24 record in 2021-22 to compiling a 20-13 mark in 2022-23. Duquesne tied for sixth place in the Atlantic 10 Conference regular season this past year with a 10-8 record and ended the campaign by playing in the College Basketball Invitational.
Temple has posted records of 17-12 (2021-22) and 16-16 (2022-23) over the last two seasons. Those overall marks include a combined 20-15 record in American Athletic Conference regular season play. Navy and Temple are facing each other for the first time since the 1981-82 season and will play on The Yard for the first time since the 1979-80 campaign.
Army-Navy tickets are on sale for $25 / ticket for adults and $15 / ticket for youths and seniors. One ticket provides admittance to both games of the Jan. 20 doubleheader.
Single-game tickets for all games outside of the men’s Veterans Classic and the Army-Navy doubleheader are $10 / ticket for adults and $5 / ticket for youths and seniors are for sale. Groups of 20 or more can purchase tickets to a game –– not including the Veterans Classic or the Army-Navy doubleheader –– for $5 / ticket for adults and $3 / ticket for youths.
