Who is the hardest person to buy for? Is it your dad? Uncle? Brother? Husband? Adult son?

From hunting to formal wear, Dallas has added some new stores in recent months with a bent toward guy shopping.

Here are some new stores in Dallas-Fort Worth where you might find some new and different shopping opportunities.

Kuiu is a premium hunting apparel and gear brand pronounced (koo-you) that opened in October just north of Galleria Dallas next to Dick’s Sporting Goods. The brand is known for its three camouflage designs based on research about how animals see contrasting patterns. The only Texas store is located at 13846 Dallas Parkway. It’s open 9:30 to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sundays.

D-FW Retail News

The latest on retail openings, closings and trends in D-FW.

Sitka opened in September just south of Knox Street on McKinney Avenue. It’s sort of catty-corner from Dallas’ Yeti store. The Bozeman-based retailer is also a premier hunting brand. It’s owned by the advanced materials company known for Gore-Tex fabrics. It’s located at 4438 McKinney Avenue. Open Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

J.Crew was missing from NorthPark Center for a few months for a total remodel of its store. It’s back.

Mizzen + Main reopened in West Village where there’s also a new men’s accessories store.

Brackish opened its first store in Dallas. The South Carolina-based brand sells the most unique bow ties made from feathers, jewelry and accessories for men and women. The college guys on this list might appreciate the backstory for this brand. It was started by a couple of friends from college. Located at 3699 McKinney Ave. and open Monday through Saturday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday noon to 6 p.m.

Carhartt workwear brand, like Dickies, also has a streetwear vibe. It opened a store in Fort Worth in mid-November. There’s also one in Tyler if you’re heading to East Texas. The Michigan brand is family-owned and operated and says it’s on a path to more new stores. The store is at 2217 N. Tarrant Parkway in Fort Worth. It’s open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday.

Having said all that, don’t forget your guys have places where they like to shop and you might do well there too.
