Chris Hemsworth and Sam Hargrave announced plans for Extraction 3 at Netflix’s Tudum event. The news came after the June 16 release of Extraction 2.
The first two movies are about a black ops soldier named Tyler Rake, who Hemsworth plays. In the first movie, Tyler goes on a dangerous task to save the son of an Indian crime boss, which almost kills him.
In Extraction 2, Tyler is still getting over the last mission when he takes on another risky job to save the family of a well-known Georgian gangster.
Hargrave, who is well-known for his stunt work, directed the first Extraction movie and continued to use his skills in the second one. Fans were amazed by the 21-minute action scene in the movie that was shot in a single take.
Hemsworth, Hargrave, and a group that included Patrick Newall, Mike Larocca, Eric Gitter, Peter Schwerin, Angela Russo-Otstot, and Joe and Anthony Russo made Extraction 2. Benjamin Grayson, Steven Scavelli, Christopher Markus, Stephen McFeely, and Jake Aust were some of the show’s executive directors.
The first movie in the series came out in April 2020. It was Netflix’s most-watched original film debut at the time, with 99 million homes watching it in the first four weeks. It also got back into the Top 10 over the Fourth of July weekend, making it the fourth most-watched streaming movie of 2020.
Both Extraction and Extraction 2 can be streamed on Netflix right now.
