Nevada City Odd Fellows St. Paddy’s Ceilidh Celebration

Folks, GET YOUR GREEN ON! Looking for something to do to celebrate St. Paddy’s Day and all things Irish? We’ve got just the ticket for you! A grand gathering where you can enjoy great Irish music, songs, stories, poetry and dance, while feasting on delicious Irish fare, sipping on a Guinness or an Irish Coffee, and generally having just a lot of fun—or great craic, as the Irish say. And all the while you’ll be helping the Nevada City Odd Fellows raise funds for much needed repairs on their 1873 gem of a building in the heart of Nevada City!

For many years, Shannon Dooley-Miller and Maggie McKaig have—with a lot of help—produced an annual St. Paddy’s Day Ceilidh in Nevada County whose proceeds have benefited various local non-profits. This year’s Ceilidh (pronounced Kay-lee, a fun Irish or Scottish social event with music, dance, and food), taking place on Saturday, March 16, will benefit the Odd Fellows, who are hosting the event in their historical and fabulous Oustomah Hall! Every dollar that the Ceilidh brings goes towards maintaining and keeping this beautiful building going, and to support the Odds new projects like their Seven Stars Gallery (located on Spring St.), which since its opening in December 2021, has created a strong, steady stream of wonderful shows featuring local artists, presenters and musicians in a lovely, intimate, and inviting space.
