NEW BERN, Craven County — Community input is wanted by residents regarding implementing ShotSpotter in New Bern.
ShotSpotter is gunshot detection technology that sends out alerts to law enforcement agencies when gunfire is registered. This technology is to help deter crime and have law enforcement respond quicker and more efficiently.
On Thursday, Nov. 9 at 6:00 p.m. the New Bern Police Department is holding a public meeting at the Omega Center located at 800 Cedar Street for community input regarding the purchase and implementation of ShotSpotter.
Officials with ShotSpotter will be at the meeting to provide additional information about the technology and answer any questions residents may have.
