Parsing through the rich bounty of autumn/winter trends can be overwhelming. That’s where I come in.
I’ve created a cheat sheet from the international catwalks to steer you stylishly into next year. These are the eight winter trends that get my seasonal thumbs up. You’re welcome.
Let’s start with animal print. More of an elevated basic, animal print has shed its once feared reputation, now boasting domestic appeal. Easy-to-wear with wardrobe basics or one-and-done with a slick of burgundy lipstick, this season’s coveted colour.
Mark November in your calendar as M&S drops a savage leopard print coat—killer retail prey.
Did someone say wine o’clock? As the mercury dips, prepare to adjust your colour palette. Full-bodied reds are taking over. Wear head-to-toe in soft knit co-ords as seen at The Frankie Shop or give it a swirl with a low-key clutch from COS or Loewe.
Prefer to make more of a statement? Notice-me stripes enter the chat, while florals are flexing in bigger and brighter iterations. You can thank our maximalist Scandi friends for that. Plus, clear heels are a clear winner, especially Tory Burch’s runway court shoes. Simply divine.
Even with all the newness, everyone loves a comeback. Tipping the trend charts this season is Chloé-inspired bohemian chic. Think billowy blouses, diaphanous dresses and over-the-knee boots updated with shield sunglasses (hello, Max Mara!)
And, drum roll, please— skinny jeans. Yes, that’s right. The mid-noughties staple is back to claim its divisive crown. Millennials and Gen Xers rejoice; your time has come.
