The Iowa River Landing off of I-80 continues to expand its shopping options.

Four new storefronts are joining the development later this year and in early 2024.

AllSpice Culinarium, Hokkaido Ramen House, Ekin Nutrition and Modern Market Eatery will open soon, two of which will be located in the new Staybridge building.

The additions are the latest in the Iowa River Landing’s upward growth.

“With these new additions, we’ve added 10 new businesses to the neighborhood in 2023 and early 2024,” said Deanna Printy, Iowa River Landing Property Manager, in a press release. “We’re thrilled to begin adding diverse tenants to the new Staybridge building and to continue to expand what the IRL [Iowa River Landing] has to offer.”

Adding spice to the riverbanks

AllSpice Culinarium, a Des Moines classic since 2010, is opening up its second location this fall in the former EVOLVE space on East 2nd Ave. The shop is a cook’s haven with nearly 500 herbs, spices, blends, oils and other specialty culinary products.

Nutritional value is on the rise

Another favorite from the metro coming to the Iowa River Landing is Ekin Nutrition, a personalized nutrition coaching and health supplement guidance. Ekin Nutrition will be one of the first storefronts opening in the new Staybridge building.

A new spin on ramen

Hokkaido Ramen House will open up its first location in Iowa. The casual Japanese joint will open up in the former Fuzzy’s Taco Shop location at 201 E 9th St. Hokkaido Ramen House offers a wide variety of authentic Japanese ramen dishes and sushi in a pub-style atmosphere.

AllSpice Culinarium, Hokkaido Ramen House, Ekin Nutrition and Modern Market Eatery join five other businesses that have already opened or will open in the final quarter of 2023, including Blue Agave Mexican Restaurant, The GYM and X-Golf Simulator.
