New N.J. restaurant fueled by family butcher shop is a cut above


Some might say that Garwood sits in the culinary shadows between Westfield and Cranford. Other than a solid pizza spot or two — and the enduring dinner-and-a-show vibes of Crossroads — the town didn’t have much to write home about until newcomer, Black Sheep Bar & Provisions opened in October.

After considering eight different locations, Harvest Restaurant Group veterans Nichola DeRosa and Vincent Communale along with Dan Meyer landed on a corner spot in Garwood, formerly Rosie’s Wine Bar, where they’d open their first project as partners.
