My order: Yummy Bowl is a new restaurant that offers customized bowls of Asian cuisine, cooked as you watch or wait at your table. The business also offers sushi and sashimi, soups, salads, appetizers, and desserts. For my lunch bowl ($11.99), I chose white rice, shrimp, pineapple, teriyaki sauce, and an assortment of veggies. The dish was delivered to me steaming hot with an appealing aroma and my favorite flavors. I also ordered vegetable tempura ($5.99), but it was undercooked and under-seasoned.
Likes: The building is large and can accommodate a sizable number of diners. The staff was patient with first-timers who needed assistance.
Dislikes: The system for ordering a bowl is somewhat clunky, beginning with filling out a paper form indicating your rice preference, then scooping raw ingredients into a bowl, sampling various sauces and seasonings, and ladling your sauce choice into a tiny cup.
What would I order next time? I like food that’s freshly cooked, so I would go for a bowl again, this time with fewer questions and more confidence.
