NHL Execs Child Charged for Pushing Womans Wheelchair Downstairs

Police in Pennsylvania filed charges against two college athletes, including the son of Philadelphia Flyers interim general manager Danny Briere, on Monday after a video showed them pushing a woman’s empty wheelchair down a stairway. Carson Briere, a 23-year-old hockey player for Mercyhurst University, and Patrick Carrozzi, a member of the school’s lacrosse team, were both charged with misdemeanor counts of criminal mischief, criminal conspiracy to do mischief, and disorderly conduct. In April, the two are expected to appear in court. Sydney Benes was assaulted earlier this month at Sullivan’s Pub and Restaurant in Erie, according to a GoFundMe campaign to purchase a new chair for her. Briere made an apology message through the Flyers last week. In part, he stated, “There is no explanation for my conduct, and I will do everything I can to make up for this grave lack of judgment.”
