No. 18/18 Men’s Basketball set to host St. Edward’s in FREE exhibition on Monday – University of Texas Athletics


AUSTIN, Texas — The No. 18/18 Texas Men’s Basketball team will host St. Edward’s University in an exhibition game on Monday, Oct. 30. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. Central at Moody Center, and the contest will be televised nationally by Longhorn Network.

Monday’s exhibition game features FREE admission. In addition, complimentary parking will be provided in Manor Garage, courtesy of Texas Athletics. All fans are encouraged to wear their Halloween costume. FREE pizza will be provided for the first 500 UT students, and FRE Halloween candy will be available for all UT students. Besides reserved courtside seating and UT students seated in the Corral, all other seating will be general admission.

Texas head coach Rodney Terry is a 1990 graduate of St. Edward’s with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a minor in physical education. During his collegiate career, Terry was a three-year starter at point guard and a three-time Academic All-Big State Conference selection.

The Hilltoppers won the Big State Conference title during Terry’s freshman season in 1986-87, and Terry also served as team captain during his junior and senior campaigns. Terry started his coaching career at St. Edward’s. He worked for one season (1990-91) as an assistant coach before moving on to a post as an assistant coach at Austin Bowie (Texas) High School.
