It’s the fourth year for the local award, presented by the Chatham-Kent Arts and Culture Network, celebrating the impact people from the municipality have had on global arts and culture.
“People are amazed when they learn about the world-renowned people who hail from Chatham-Kent,” network chairperson Laurie Langford said in a release.
“Literary luminary Robertson Davies, country superstar Michelle Wright and Canadian folk icon Sylvia Tyson are three (and) they’re just the tip of the iceberg,” she said. “The 35 people on the . . . Wall of Fame have shaped this region and Canada’s cultural identity as arts practitioners, teachers, mentors and builders. They’re part of the reason why C-K has a deep and vibrant cultural life, rich with music, visual art, dance, performance, and writers.”

“The 2025 nomination form is simple to fill out and all nominations must be submitted by June 15,” said James Snyder, who chairs the selection committee. “We’re looking for individuals and groups across six artistic disciplines that add vibrancy to our local cultural environment: dance, literary arts, music, theatre arts, visual arts and cultural builders.”
This year, six living individuals, one from each category, and two legacy inductees, will be honoured. The eight inductees will receive their awards at the Wall of Fame gala at the Chatham Cultural Centre Oct. 23.
