The Portage Park District Foundation is seeking nominations for its 26th annual Environmental Conservation Awards.

Nominees will be considered based on their contributions to Portage County’s environment through education, green business, green building/development, stewardship or environmental activism.

To nominate a person, visit the Portage Park District’s website at www.portageparkdistrict.org and complete the online form. The forms can also be downloaded and mailed to the Portage Park District Foundation, P.O. Box 2327, Streetsboro, OH 44241 or emailed to [email protected].

All nominations are due by March 1.

The winning nominees will be recognized at the foundation’s annual environmental conservation awards dinner, set for 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. April 27 at the Kent American Legion, 1945 Mogadore Rd.

The event will also feature updates from Portage Park District Executive Director Christine Craycroft and raffles. Fundraising proceeds will benefit the foundation’s mission to support the Portage Park District in conserving the county’s natural heritage. All funds leverage tax levy dollars and allow the foundation to match dollars for grants, to support ongoing projects and to provide amenities for visitors at the county’s parks.
