North West opens up about dyslexia during live TikTok video with mom Kim Kardashian

North West, the 10-year-old daughter of reality TV star Kim Kardashian, made a candid revelation during a live TikTok session with her mother. The young influencer, who often shares moments with her family on social media, disclosed that she has dyslexia.

In a live TikTok video, North West shared this personal revelation with her viewers, saying, “Guys, I have dyslexia. Do you even know what that is?”

Her mother, Kim Kardashian, was quick to intervene, playfully commenting, Northy, you are sure spilling the tea on here.”

Dyslexia is a learning disorder characterized by difficulties in reading, often related to challenges in identifying speech sounds and how they correspond to letters and words, as described by the Mayo Clinic.

It is believed to result from differences in the brain’s language processing areas.

The discussion didn’t delve deeper into the topic, but Kim acknowledged that she consciously refrains from discussing certain aspects of her daughter’s life publicly.

She did, however, mention that North is growing into an independent young person, which she previously highlighted on her reality show.

The revelation came a few days after North’s father, Kanye West, claimed that he is autistic.

Kim as a mother

Kim Kardashian has always been open about including her children in her brand and reality show. She highlighted the individual time she dedicates to each of her kids, explaining that North prefers to live her life as an “only child.”

The reality TV star shared insights into her children’s interests and mentioned that they have a TikTok account together where they discuss various topics.

She revealed that Saint, her eldest son, is a “momma’s boy” but is gradually becoming more independent as he enters his teen years.

The celebrity mom emphasized her efforts to understand her children’s passions and connect with them on a personal level.

The Kardashian family trips

So far this year, Kim took North to Paris due to her love for fashion and Chicago and her friends to San Diego to enjoy the zoo and Legoland. She also took Saint to London to attend an Arsenal’s match.

She acknowledged the challenges of balancing individual time with her children, especially as they grow and develop their own interests.
