
Background
•The total estimated population in NW Syria reached approximately 5 million including 3.4 M IDPs, according to latest population estimates shared by OCHA in 2023.
•According to the CCCM annual update the total number of displacement movements in 2023 stands at approximately 300,000 due the earthquake that struck Northwest Syria on February 6, 2023, resulting in over 108,000 new arrivals to reception centers.
•Based on 2023 HNO and considering the effects of EQ, the Nutrition Cluster Target was (covering the entire PIN given scale of needs following EQ; there are 1,460,306 people including 901,192 Children under 5 years, 396,137 pregnant and lactating women and 162,977 adolescent girls in dire need of nutritional assistance in NW-Syria.
•Nutrition preventive and curative services including scale up necessitated by EQ were provided through 15 Stabilization centers, 222 RRTs addition to, 145 outpatient treatment centers (OTPs) and 113 targeted supplementary programs (TSFPs). However, there are 10 SCs, 102 OTPs and 172 RRTs will be fully/partially suspended due to lack of funding by the end of December 2023
Nutrition Cluster General Highlights:

The Northwest Syria Nutrition Cluster has successfully reached 1.1 Million beneciaries, constituting 75% of the cluster PIN and target (1,460,306); 361,506 pregnant and lactating women (PLWs), 728,919 children under ve years, and 10,242 adolescent girls.

In 2023, Nutrition cluster partners collectively screened approximately 800,000 children under 5 years, and 389,000 pregnant and lactating women (PLW) identifying approximately 110,000 children under 5 years and 54,000 PLWs with acute malnutrition.
