The Nutrition Sector Partners express profound gratitude for the support of all Stakeholders, especially Donors whose generous contributions enabled the sector to reach 2.2 million beneficiaries with a variety of nutrition sector interventions in 2023. A number of new actors joined the efforts of existing sector partners to contribute to the nutrition response. On this background, and aided by the sector’s 2023 nutrition multi-risk emergency response preparedness plan and anticipatory actions, a brewing nutrition crisis was averted, especially during the lean season (May to September). Despite these gains, the number of women and children in need of nutrition assistance is expected to remain high attributed to consecutive severe lean seasons, high prevalence of acute watery diarrhea, measles, malaria, and rising food insecurity and economic crises.
