Katheryn “Kat” Bilbo, an associate professor and artistic director of theatre and performance at Northwest, has died.
The cause of death has not yet been released to the public.
Northwest Provost Jamie Hooyman sent a mass email Dec. 21 notifying students, faculty and staff of Bilbo’s death. It said more details on funeral arrangements will be provided as they become available.
Bilbo has worked at the University since 2014, where she went on to direct Theatre Northwest’s mainstage productions every year since 2015. Along with other scholarly accolades, Bilbo made an impact on the Department of Fine and Performing Arts through her work.
Per the statement from the Provost Office, counseling services are available to anyone through Northwest. Students can call 660-562-1254 to be connected with a counselor through the University Police Department.
