Liz Stockham, a nutrition services specialist in Greeley-Evans School District 6, was named the district’s classified employee of the year this week, the classified council announced.
Stockham was honored for her commitment to ensuring students are fed — even outside of school hours, according to a news release from District 6.

“She commits herself to every kid does not go hungry,” District 6 Classified Council president Joaquin Morado said in the release. “She takes on leadership roles. She goes above and beyond, sometimes unexpectedly, but that is what makes Liz, Liz.”
The District 6 Classified Council annually sponsors the employee of the year award. A committee reviews nominations and recommends the winner. Anna Lopez, a para-professional at Chappelow Arts Magnet K-8, and Edgar Chaparro, a master painter in the facilities department, were also nominated.
Stockham’s award was announced Monday evening during a District 6 Board of Education meeting.
Through a partnership with The Success Foundation, 32 District 6 schools have a food pantry for students and families to access supplemental food. Stockham works with parent advocates and other employees at schools locations to see the pantries are stocked with non-perishable and perishable refrigerated and frozen foods.
Stockham’s work includes purchasing food, working with donors and marketing the pantries to families, according to the release.
“Her kindness, dedication and proactive problem-solving have created a culture of care and support that extends far beyond the pantry doors,” said Kara Sample, assistant director of Nutrition Services, in her award nomination. “Her efforts not only nourish students physically, but also provides them with stability, a sense of security and supports their academic success.”
