COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — Ohio governor Mike DeWine spent part of Tuesday with members of the Ohio Department of Development to kick off the summer travel season.
Officials were at the Ohio Statehouse for the annual Ohio tourism day with 120 tourism partners in the state showcasing what they have to offer. Hundreds were in attendance exploring the booths and enjoying some ice cream on a hot Tuesday.
Leaders say the event was about celebrating all of the things that make Ohio the heart of it all and whether you’re visiting the Buckeye State for the first time or looking to start a business, leaders say it is the place to be.
“No matter where they choose to live in the state of Ohio, they’re going to be close to a state park. They’re going to be close to great, great culture, great major league sports, great zoos, great art museums, and great theater,” DeWine said. “And we can just go on and on and it doesn’t matter where you live.”
