Olivia Rodrigo Lights Up the SNL Stage with Her Deep, Fierce Rendition of ‘Vampire’

Olivia Rodrigo sang two of her hit songs on Saturday Night Live.

For the second time, the 20-year-old singer appeared as a musical guest on Saturday Night Live, with host Adam Driver. She delivered a new version of Vampire and All-American Bitch for this engagement.

Rodrigo started the night off with a slow piano performance of Vampire. Her hair was tied back in a sleek bun and she donned a stunning silver halter dress as she delivered the song’s chorus with an emotional tone. Notably, she wore multiple rings with the word Guts – the title of her second studio album – on her right hand.

The stage was designed to appear as if it were in a dream, with blue fog enveloping the floor under the piano and scores of silver cut-out stars dangling from the ceiling.

Her second performance was All-American Bitch, and she provided the drama. Rodrigo sat in a high-neck pink dress, sipping tea at a table stacked high with cakes and other sweets, and the action began simply and innocently.

When she got to the chorus, she unleashed her dark side, jumping onto and laying on the table, slashing the cake with a knife, and dancing on the confectionaries while the lighting changed to fit her emotions. The lighting moved from dazzling white to quick red flashes to symbolize the upheaval.

She even put blood-red cake on her face, clothes, and white stockings to emphasize the lyrics, which could have referred to her record’s Guts. After finishing her acts, she pointed her tongue out at the cameras.
