On the 9th, Harman, a subsidiary of Samsung Electronics, unveiled its innovative “Ready” technology that transforms automobiles into intelligent and sympathetic partners at “CES 2025.”

Harman conceived that drivers’ expectations for cars are not limited to performance and safety, but require an integrated and personalized experience similar to the smart devices they use every day. Harman introduced technologies such as ▲Ready Upgrade ▲Ready Care ▲Ready Display to understand and communicate with the driver’s needs and create an environment in the vehicle.

Ready Care, which Harman introduced in collaboration with Samsung Electronics at CES last year, is a technology that detects the movement of the driver’s eyes and measures biological signals such as heart rate and breathing in a non-contact manner to determine the level of concentration and attention on the road ahead.

Harman’s Ready technology, unveiled this year, has evolved to be more human-centered by combining Sitsonic for immersive audio, Ready Vision for augmented reality displays, and Ready Connect for ubiquitous connections to the outside world. Harman explains that he infused thoughts, feelings, and voices into the product.

In particular, Harman introduced a new emotional intelligence artificial intelligence (AI) system, “Luna,” an avatar based on Ready Engage.

Luna is an AI assistant for vehicles that creates a natural and intuitive bond between riders and technology with personalized interactions through voice and visuals. Immersive augmented reality (AR) functions such as windshield display and transparent hood view increase safety, comfort, and immersion. The AI system is expected to be deeply involved in the needs of passengers and the driving environment to redefine the in-vehicle experience.

The “brain” of intelligent vehicles implemented by AI assistants is handled by a ready-upgrade co-fit domain controller and Harman’s Central Compute Unit (CCU) platform. Ready upgrades reduce development cycle and cost as a turnkey solution. It is characterized by software (SW) updates every three months and vehicle release updates within six months.

Harman plans to integrate HL Clemove and advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) solutions for intelligent vehicle implementation and platform advancement.

“Haman’s portfolio of intelligent solutions is the most extensive in the industry,” said Amine Promusberger, CEO of Harman International. “Haman is pioneering a new horizon in automotive technology by combining driving situations and converting them into in-vehicle experiences that fit the actual vehicle situation.”
