On the Circuit: 2024 Symphony Fashion Show Kickoff Party

The fashionable were not disappointed when they arrived at Gus Mayer for the annual Symphony Fashion Show kickoff. This year’s designer — Prabal Gurung — had beautiful gowns on display as patrons of the Nashville Symphony eyed some favorites and made their orders for this year’s Symphony Fashion Show attire. Born in Singapore, raised in Nepal, Prabal finished his education at Parsons where he worked as design director for Bill Blass before launching his eponymous line. The Spring 2024 collection offers an East Meets West inspiration using pieces that evoke images of traditional Eastern dress mixed with Western elements.

Nashville Symphony CEO & President Alan Valentine welcomed guests, gave a heartfelt thanks to Gus Mayer — specifically Gus Mayer President Mitch Johnson and Janice Elliott Morgan — for being such great partners to the Symphony Fashion Show. He also thanked the 2024 co-chairs Emily Humphreys and Tracy Frist, and introduced Executive Chairman Sandra Lipman who expressed her gratitude for the chairs as well and reflected on how much the fashion show has grown since she helped start it 19 years ago. Co-chair Emily Humphreys — speaking on behalf of the duo as Tracy Frist was out of town — spoke to the history of the fashion show and expressed how thrilled both she and Tracy were to have Prabal as the designer this year.

As the sun set for the evening the boutique was abuzz with anticipation for the eagerly anticipated spring event.
