On Track Nutrition in Wellington now offering weekly food pick-up service

On Track Nutrition, 208 N. Main St. in Wellington, started a weekly food ordering system for customers to receive quality, homemade meals at a fair price.

Known for the variety of shakes and teas, the nutrition establishment includes a small, rotating food menu and began accepting orders for the new food options five weeks ago.

“We already have a full kitchen, that’s when we decided we would give it a try and put a menu out there,” said Tracey Timbs, owner. “It’s OK right now, because I wanted to get a feel for everything.”

Building off of the existing food menu and experience meal prepping for a client for the last two years, Timbs said menu items are curated based on what customers like, and meals she knows that are satisfying.

Customers have the option to pick from items like pasta dishes, salads, protein packed meals and soups, and serve as an alternative to fast foods, she said.

“Everything is homemade,” Timbs said. “I’m trying to implement the meals that are going to appeal to everyone.”

Meals are made with locally sourced ingredients, like produce from a small, roadside stand and meat from Smith’s Country Counter in Norwalk.

Timbs said with this new system, she wanted to focus on bringing quality and healthier meal options to the community, specifically for busy families with little time to cook or for adults who have an “empty nest” and only cook for themselves or two people.

“I would rather offer a homestyle meal where it’s portion controlled,” she said. “I wanted to get customer feedback.”

New menus for the weekly meal offerings are posted on Sundays, usually to the On Track Nutrition Facebook page, and orders are due the following Wednesday for pickup the next Saturday or Monday, according to Timbs.

Payments are due at the time of ordering either over the phone, messaging or in-person, and it’s often required to purchase two meals at a time, with some exceptions based on the circumstances, she said.

Timbs said she also provides for those who cannot make it in during business hours to pick up their meals by offering an additional pick-up time.

“I try to accommodate anyone that wants to utilize my service,” she said. “I’m going to do everything in my power to accommodate you to be a loyal, regular customer.”

The community has provided a positive response and valuable feedback which will help adjust the food system as it goes on, Timbs said.

The weekly food orders have not only garnered much attention through social media, but have drawn in a wave of new customers, she said.

“It’s been amazing the support that we’ve had and the new people we have coming in and checking on it,” Timbs said. “It’s growing and getting attention.”
