
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas City, Missouri Police Department is investigating a shooting that left a man dead last Friday night.
KCPD officers arrived at the scene around 10:30 p.m. on Friday and found a man, 38-year-old Pablo Rodriguez, unresponsive and suffering from a gunshot wound inside his vehicle in the area of E. 17th Street and Hardesty Avenue.
Rodriguez was taken to the hospital with life threatening injuries, but later died on Sunday, according to KCPD.
According to preliminary investigations, detectives believe the shooting took place where Rodriguez was found — near Van Brunt Boulevard and approximately 1.5 miles north of Interstate 70 — and was the result of an interaction between one or more people that escalated into a fatal shooting.
KCPD is asking anyone with information to contact Homicide detectives directly at (816) 234-5043 or the TIPS Hotline anonymously at 816-474-TIPS. There is a reward of up to $25,000 for information submitted anonymously.
