OnePlus has teased a new smartwatch, which would be its second outing in the wearable segment three years after the launch of its first smartwatch, namely the OnePlus Watch. And the successor could be called the OnePlus Watch 2.
Teasing its second smartwatch, OnePlus posted a picture on its official community forum, asking users to wrongly guess what the product is, and it definitely looks like a watch.
“It’s time, to do it right!,” reads the teaser, hinting towards the user backlash the company’s first smartwatch received because of its inferior software in favour of energy saving. The rumours are that the OnePlus Watch 2 could run WearOS.
OnePlus is expected to launch its upcoming smartwatch at the Mobile World Congress later this month. The OnePlus Watch 2, as reported by Max Jambor, a well-known tipster, is said to have significant improvements over its predecessor, which could be its new software – the wearOS.
The tipster now suggests that the OnePlus Watch 2 could launch on February 24.
The teaser image appears to be in line with the leaked renders of the upcoming OnePlus Watch 2. One of the most noticeable features is the button housing, which is clearly visible.
Leaked specs suggest that the OnePlus Watch 2 features a 1.43-inch AMOLED display and is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 chipset.
