LUBBOCK, Texas – Oklahoma State men’s and women’s indoor track & field head to Lubbock, Texas, for the Big 12 Indoor Track & Field Championships.
Both the Cowboys and Cowgirls are coming off highly successful regular seasons in which a program-record 14 school records have fallen.
The Cowgirls are looking to defend their first-ever conference track & field title after defeating top-ranked Texas at last year’s championships in Lubbock. The OSU women enter the competition ranked No. 8 after achieving their highest ranking in program history at No. 4 last week. No. 4 Texas Tech, No. 7 Texas, No. 10 BYU, No. 24 Baylor and No. 25 Oklahoma also enter the Big 12 Championships in the national polls.
On the men’s side, the No. 17 Cowboys are looking to bring home their third indoor track & field conference title after a second-place finish at the 2023 meet. As it stands, five Cowboys and the men’s DMR would qualify individually for the NCAA Indoor Championships across three separate events. Brian Musau, Ryan Schoppe and Alex Maier each hold qualifying times in the 3,000 Meters with Maier and Denis Kipngetich holding qualifying times in the 5K. The men’s DMR also currently sits No. 6 in the NCAA with their time of 9:19.74 last weekend at the Arkansas Qualifier.
Hosted by Texas Tech, the entire meet will be streamed live on ESPN+ starting at 10 a.m. Friday and 11 a.m. CT Saturday. Championships events will begin with the 60-meter hurdles as part of the women’s pentathlon at 10 a.m. Friday, while the men’s 4×400-meter relay will close out competition at 5:55 p.m. Saturday.
