OU No. 12 in College Football Playoff ranking; earns Alamo Bowl matchup with Arizona, per report

Oklahoma (10-2, 7-2 Big 12) has been awarded the No. 12 ranking and will meet No. 14 Arizona (9-3, 7-2 Pac-12) in the Alamo Bowl on Dec. 28.

The game kicks off at 8:15 p.m. at the Alamodome in San Antonio and will air nationally on ESPN.

The Sooners and Wildcats are 1-1 all-time. The last time they met was when OU lost 6-3 in 1989 in Tucson, Arizona.

Oklahoma last played in the bowl between Big 12 and Pac-12 opponents during the 2021 season. The Sooners defeated Oregon 47-32.

Since the regular season ended, four Sooners have entered the NCAA Transfer Portal, which opens on Monday. The game will also be the first time new offensive coordinator Seth Littrell will call plays for OU.

Oklahoma finished the 2023 regular season with a four-win improvement from last season.

Action Network’s Brett McMurphy first reported the Sooners and Wildcats’ matchup in the Alamo Bowl on Sunday.
