WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – Cape Fear Community College’s (CFCC) recent fundraiser for students in the Automotive System Technology, Automotive Customizing Technology, and Collision Repair and Refinishing programs raised $113,500.
According to CFCC, the money raised will help students by providing tools, equipment, and scholarships to support careers in the automotive industry.
The fundraiser was held on Nov. 14 and brought together community members, industry leaders, and automotive enthusiasts.
“We are grateful for the generosity of our community,” said Jim Morton, CFCC President. “This incredible support demonstrates our region’s value in developing a skilled workforce and the importance of helping students achieve their career goals. These funds will impact the lives of our students and the industries they serve.”
Tim Milam, CEO of Coldwell Banker Sea Coast Advantage, and his wife, Vicki, were one of two donors to make a significant gift toward the program.
“CFCC’s automotive programs are phenomenal, and their instructors go above and beyond,” said Milam.
Milam says it’s an honor he and his wife are contributing to help students grow in the community.
“I encourage people who don’t know what’s happening at Cape Fear Community College to contact the Foundation and find out. They’re doing incredible work,” said Milam.
CFCC’s automotive programs provide hands-on training in advanced vehicle systems, customization techniques, and collision repair.
