The deadline to nominate someone for the 2024 Arts, Culture and Volunteer Awards in Owen Sound is fast approaching.

The city says nominations for the awards will close March 14.

Following the closure, Owen Sound will host an awards ceremony next month and is inviting residents to recognize the contributions of the local arts and culture community, as well as from volunteers.

The awards previously had their own separate events, but have since been moved to the same date to celebrate the various achievements on a larger scale.

The Art and Culture Awards celebrate excellence in the arts, culture and heritage of the Owen Sound area and recognize groups and individuals for their achievements and contributions in these areas.

Award categories include Outstanding Group, Outstanding Individual, Outstanding Event, Most promising New Event, Emerging Artist, Culture Catalyst, Cultural Heritage, and Lifetime Achievement.

Winners will be selected from a jury of past nominees and award winners.

The awards reception will be held at the TOM on April 14 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
