An Oxford man has been arrested after allegedly setting a car on fire in a motel parking lot.

Both the Oxford Police Department and the Oxford Fire Department responded to the Super 8 Motel on Saturday after a report of a vehicle on fire. While firefighters put out the blaze, police quickly arrested Jose Cuellzar, 38.

Cuellzar was transported to the Lafayette County Detention Center and charged with arson. He was given a $5,000 bond by the municipal court judge.

At this time, no motive has been revealed.
