Paris Hilton chose surrogacy once more when she just welcomed her second child, daughter London, with husband Carter Reum, citing her PTSD from her adolescence as the cause.
In an interview with the mommy blog Romper, the Paris In Love actor discussed her “extreme PTSD from what [she] went through” while attending Utah’s Provo Canyon School for Troubled Youth.
Hilton explained that going to the doctor’s office causes her to have a “panic attack” to the point where she “can’t breathe,” and that “I just knew that would not be healthy for me or the baby, growing inside of someone who has such high anxiety.”
In a 2020 interview with People Magazine, the socialite revealed her traumatic year-long experience at the school, citing physical, sexual, and emotional abuse, as well as non-consensual and invasive gynecological procedures.
In an interview with Glamour UK, she stated that the “two things that scare [her] more than anything in the world” are “death” and “childbirth.”
In addition to her trauma, the mother of two stated that her tight work schedule would have made dealing with pregnancy’s negative effects very difficult.
Indeed, the businesswoman is currently juggling many projects and enterprises, including Hilton Hotels, the 11: 11 media company, her podcast and reality show, a kitchenware line, and new songs.
Despite this, she did not take maternity leave after the births of her son Phoenix in January and daughter London around Thanksgiving.
However, the mother of two, who is open to having a third child, stated that starting a family made her feel like her “life is finally complete.”
