Parkway Central Library invites creativity and imagination from ‘In-Between Spaces’

Outside of the Robert and Eileen Kennedy Heim Center for Civic and Public Engagement West Gallery One hall, Ka’ryn Durant posed for a photo in front of a sign dedicated to the library’s latest art installation, which she’s featured in.

Normally, the Parkway Central Library is an atrium for communal gatherings or clubs like chess or knitting, but on Thursday, Durant joined a throng of artists and art enthusiasts for collaging, small bites, and art as the hall became a chamber of Black culture, and the library unveiled their latest exhibition, “The In-Between Spaces.” The exhibit is a collection of collages, sculpture art, and photography created by Black and brown women and non-binary artists.
