
BOZRAH, Conn. (WTNH) – Connecticut State Police officials are asking any witnesses to come forward with information regarding a one-car collision which caused property damage and left a 19-year-old passenger with serious injuries.
According to an accident report from police, the crash occurred around 3:50 p.m. on Sunday while the vehicle- a 2012 Mazda 3i- was traveling southbound on Bozrah Street.
Near the intersection of Bozrah Street and Bishop Road, the vehicle went off the southbound side of the road, continuing in the southbound roadside while it struck two mailboxes and two utility poles before moving to the northbound shoulder and striking a metal beam guardrail.
The accident report continues to state the vehicle separated from the guardrail and traveled across both lanes before striking an embankment and stopping.
The report says a 19-year-old passenger was ejected during the collision and sustained serious injuries, the report says. He was transported to a hospital for treatment, then to a different one through Life Star.
The driver- listed as 20-years-old in the accident report- was transported to a hospital with minor injuries.
Two vehicles parked unoccupied in a nearby driveway were struck by debris and had minor damage, according to police.
